5 Easy Tips to Get More Clients Referrals

Looking to get more clients? You don’t have to go far for help. The best way to attract new clients is by engaging your current clients. Referrals are the tried and true way of growing your business. The best leads you’ll ever get are from happy, satisfied clients who tell their network of your services.  When your client gives you a good referral, they sell your new prospect on the benefits of your services.  Raving reviews can ultimately result in sales. When the referred prospect shows up ready to buy, all you have to do is deliver!

Yes, it can be just that easy.

The key is getting your clients to spread the word and actively promote your products and services. It’s a fairly easy process, and what I’ve found is the easier you make it for them to engage, the more success you’ll have.

 

1. Just Ask. Most people are willing to help others and often they are already thinking of someone who would love your product or service just as much as they do. Establish a policy in your business to ALWAYS ask clients, “Do you know of others who may want to use our services?”   Then provide them with an easy way to share this information with you. If they offer names, ask the person if it is okay for you to contact them personally or would they prefer to pass your business card along to them.

2. Give to Get. Offer incentives for referrals. Most people love gifts and incentives. The key is to engage all parties. If you own a salon, you can offer your client half price services when they bring a friend with them. Or you can create a 2 for 1 special, family and friends promotions, etc. 

3. Provide Top-Notch Excellent and Thoughtful Services when you have recurring clients whom you have become friendly with. Wow them with a special surprise that shows you value their patronage.

4.  Share Socially.  On your website, place social media sharing buttons in plain visible site where it’s easy for your clients to spread the word with others. Add this line above or below your share buttons to increase your chances of getting referred:

“Love our products? Share with your friends.”

5. Say Thank You: Follow up with a simple email, postcard or a call to say thank you once the product or service has been delivered. To further the success of the personal contacts, do the following:

  • POSTCARD: Say thank you and offer a free gift when they return with a friend.
  • EMAIL: Say thank you and provide a link to forward your services to their friends (with a special code discount)
  • PHONE: Give a sincere “thank you” and remind them to tell friends and family about your business and services.

Many companies plan “friends and family days” in their marketing calendars to attract new customers. Some offer cash incentives or deluxe services and extra products.  You can also host an event and ask your clients to bring guests. There are countless ways to engage with your clients and ask them to bring in their friends next time. 

Always remember, as long as you are providing top-notch quality service that leaves a lasting impression, your clients will gladly sing your praises to others.

5 Secrets To Growing Your Business Through Networking

Networking is the key to building your net worth. It’s a tried and true “old school” way of making lucrative and lasting connections that can help you find new clients, opportunities and maximize the value of your current contacts.

Expanding your connections is a business building basic. Here are five ways you can successfully meet new friends, clients and co-creators for your business.

1) Start with Who you Know
Reaching out to your current connections can springboard your efforts in the right direction. When working to establish more meaningful connections with people you already know, find a genuine way to help them without expecting anything in return. Use your gifts and services to benefit someone else, gain their trust and place you on their mind.

Make a list of people to connect with this week. Then put together a plan to contact them. Keep your initial introductions short and sweet and offer them something immediately.

The key to building good relationships is to give before you get. Bring something to the table by offering your assistance, information and resources to help someone. Your thoughtfulness will open up opportunities to gain new partners, mentors, referrals and clients.

2) Show up in the Right Places
You are much more effective in face-to-face meetings than you are over the phone. That’s why showing up to a conference with industry insiders and influencers can be very beneficial to your success. Not only will you get great information to enhance your business and life, but you also get to connect with others who may introduce you to new information, services or people that can open up new opportunities for you.

When you go to events, don’t stand on the sidelines, engage in conversation, introduce yourself and get involved with the action. To make it easy, always have your tools of engagement such as your business cards, smart phone, or an intriguing info sheet on your business. For example, my business card has a QR Code on it, so that once you scan it, it brings up my website or a intro video immediately, so that you can learn more information about me quickly. There’s also apps like ScanBizCards for your phone or tablet that enables you to scan a business card right into your Rolodex on the spot. These kind of innovative gestures are great conversation starters.

3) Seek New Relationships
Meet new people. Always seek to grow your network with new people that are from various backgrounds. If you’re having problems meeting new people, get on social mailing lists that give weekly updates of events going on in your area. The more you meet new people, you’ll start getting invited to more exclusive events as well.

You can also attract new relationships by looking the part. Dress in a way that will impress your ideal clients and cause others to want to know you. Let’s face it, we live in a visual world and your appearance is a billboard that is constantly telling people how to approach you. So look the part! Create a distinct, professional, outstanding style for yourself that makes people instantly attracted to you and are ready to learn more.

4) Stand Out
Often meeting new people at networking events can be repetitive, so make your self stand out by adding extra effort into making lasting connections. Like taking a photo and then later emailing it to the person with a special follow up note, or print it out and mail it with a hand written note. Hook them with personal pizazz by perfecting your elevator pitch, (that’s when you can give a 1 minute introduction describing who you are, what you do and how you can help others). You should give your pitch in a way that entices others to want to learn more about you or how to use your services.

5) Stay in Touch
Stay in touch with the people you meet. Don’t wait for others to contact you. Make contact quickly after the initial meeting and periodically throughout the year.

Send a quick email, mail them an article or a gift that you think would be helpful for them. Send referrals their way. All of these gestures will keep the lines of communication open and establish a long-lasting relationship over time.

It’s also good to visit their websites, read their blog or even subscribe to their newsletter and leave thoughtful comments. Social media is a good way to keep the conversation going long after the initial meeting.

Some of my best deals and opportunities have come from building relationships with others I’ve met in my travels, at events or online. I’ve found that when you show yourself friendly and keep open communication, you will build a solid network that you can count on when you need it.

37 Ways to Be and Stay Creative

Working in your business or on your job can become mundane after a while. It’s important to shake things up a bit to stay sharp and full of fresh ideas. We’re constantly creating new products and programs, and after a while it can become challenging to do something new. You can get comfortable and go with something you’ve already done, but when you want to raise your level of expertise, authority and innovation, you have to get more creative. Here’s a list of 37 ways you can charge your creative juices in your business. Try implementing at least one a day over the next month. You may come up with your next million-dollar idea!

 

1. Write freely.

Write uninhibited thoughts early in the morning when you first wake up to jumpstart your creativity. Brilliant ideas, solutions and reminders will come early in the morning.

2. Keep an idea journal with you at all times.
Whether you love a pen and a pad or you use a notepad app, when inspiration strikes record it quickly right when the idea is fresh.

3. Write on the walls.
Use extra large paper you can stick on the wall and write your ideas. It’ll bring out the kid in you and help you to create freely.

4. Use sticky notes.
Record a single thought then later you can rearrange your ideas into a flow that fits your project.

5. Meditate.
Clear your mind through meditation. Get in tune with your inner spirit and allow yourself to hear divine ideas that are meant for you.

6. Get monthly motivation in the mail.
Subscribe to magazines in your industry and other magazines that inspire you as well. Every week I visit the bookstore and purchase all the weeklies. They are full of ideas, up to the minute information and the latest trends and styles.

7. Make lists.
Lists are an easy way to get a lot of ideas out quickly, just start writing…more things will come once you get started. (I used this technique to write this list actually)

8. Break routine.
We are all creatures of habit and doing the same things over and over can dull your mind. Break up the monotony and do things a little different.

9. Get moving.
Ride a bike, run on the treadmill, exercise and get your blood pumping. The increased blood flow positively impacts your creative juices.

10. Take a walk.
Fresh air and natural surroundings will inspire you.

11. Get sunshine.
Sunshine improves your mood, which is also good for your creativity.

12. Browse the bookstore.
Peruse the aisles, check out the NY Times best seller list, thumb through selections that catch your idea. Go around the entire store, not just your favorite spots. You’ll be surprised at what you’ll find. I’ve found great ideas in cookbooks, decorating books, calendars and more.

13. Get order in your office/home.
A clean space will conjure up your creativity. Everything speaks to you…so clear the distractions of clutter so you can hear what inspires you not what’s draining you.

14. Add color for creativity.
Colors have been known to enhance your mood and impact your thinking. Go for the color green when you want to be more creative and the color yellow when you want to enhance your mood overall (which also helps your creativity).

15. Experiment.
It’s okay to experiment. Try something new with your project. Listen to your gut and go for what hasn’t been done before…your best work can spring up out of hunch! Give it a whirl…you can always adjust later.

16. Surround yourself with creative people.
Creative energy of others can fuel the atmosphere and produce a conducive environment for fantastic ideas to flow.

17. Check out the competition.
It’s good to see what your competition is up to. You’ll keep your competitive edge and you might find something that sparks an idea for your own projects.

18. Attend conferences.
Live events are a great place to learn new things, meet new people and trade information as well. You may find a new product for your business or meet a potential business partner.

19. Take a class.
Keep your skills sharp by staying abreast of the latest information in your field. Thankfully the Internet makes this process simple. You can take an online course or other courses offered by experts.

20. Create vision boards.
Create a visual of your ideas that you can meditate on often. Put it where you can see it, it will inspire you.

21. Tune up your creativity with Music.
Like color, music can get you right in the mood for inspiring ideas. What ever music you love that can get you in a zone…turn it up, tune everything else out and create!

22. Ask “What if?”
Allow yourself to imagine and think freely about ideas that come to you. Focus to remove the barriers and consider how everything would turn out if….

23. Investigate further.
When an idea or image or a phrase you may have heard strikes you…dig a little deeper. Maybe you need to research or write more about the topic, whatever you need to do, don’t let it be a fleeting thought.

24. Finish.
Un-clutter your mind of unfinished business so you can think more clearly.

25. Watch creative movies.
Sometimes it’s good to watch movies that inspire you.

26. Forget fear.
Fear stifles creativity. Just for a moment just consider exploring your new ideas, inquisitive thoughts and actions…don’t consider any repercussions or what others may think…just do it.

27. Get a hobby.
Channeling your creativity into something different than your work can keep your mind sharp and rejuvenated.

28. Capture creativity with camera.
Images speak loudly and can inspire you so capture the moments forever with a camera.

29. Try a new workspace.
Work outside, in a new room or even a new location altogether. Take a moment and look around the new place…take note of all the things that inspire you.

30. Find the Wow!
Look for inspiration. Open your mind to be inspired by becoming more observant. When you see the magnificence that surrounds you daily…say wow!

31. Step away from a project and return with a fresh perspective.
Sometimes we can get so engulfed that we can think of anything else to add or change. Take a break and then come back you’ll be full of new ideas!

32. Work with a time clock.
The pressure of a deadline can inspire you to creatively finish faster.

33. Embrace mistakes.
Mistakes or failed attempts at something can sometimes lead to other brilliant ideas. Art Fry used another scientist’s seemingly useless glue (that was strong enough to stick to a surface but couldn’t bond) and created the Post It Notes.

34. Broaden your horizons.
Take in cultural activities that you wouldn’t normally be interested in. This new exposure can inspire you to add something new to your work.

35. Check out new social media sites.
There are new social communities that can open you up to new ideas. You can search for ones in your field or others that are inline with your interests. Whether you’re into cooking, drawing, sculpting, web design, photography…there’s a community out there waiting to be discovered by you.

36. Eat clean.
Fresh fruits and lots of water can keep your body and brain aligned which helps with creativity. As opposed to junk food that can steal your energy. So fill up on foods that fuel you!

37. Have fun.
Make work fun, laugh a little and play…having fun in your business makes it easy to develop new concepts and ideas.

Show Up and Go Big!

People who go big in their business and achieve on high levels… always show up. They show up at the right time for the right opportunities  and consequently increase the odds of succeeding in their favor.

I’m a believer in divine placement. I believe in SHOWING UP. I believe that there are people, places, and programs already positioned to help you manifest your greatest desires. I am convinced that there are times in life where you just have to SHOW UP for your solutions to unfold.

Most of the major turning points in my life happened because I SHOWED UP.
I’m so glad that I showed up…15 years ago at an event with Bob Harrison…. I was so inspired that I bought his entire product line, charging my credit card to max…based upon an intuitive nudge and because I understood how information changes the seasons of your life. I was ready for my next level and willing to invest whatever it took to get there. Flash forward ten years later; I was standing on stage in Hawaii as one of his guest speakers along with Myles Munroe and John Bevere.

Showing up in the right places at the right time is very transformative. It’s the difference between the successful and the want-to-be successful. See, the successful always show up against the odds no matter what the circumstance, they let nothing get in their way of a divine appointment. Once they get a witness that they are supposed to get on board,  nothing can stop them.

I’m so glad that I maximized the showing up principle in my life because that’s when the real shift for success came. Now it ‘s your time, indeed it’s your season, don’t miss your moment, decide you’re going to show up.

I get chills just thinking about what’s going to happen when you finally get off the fence and show up where you are supposed to be.

You can achieve your dreams, grow your business, and live the life you truly desire if you’d just show up! Showing up is about pushing past the obstacles, life circumstances, and your inner barriers—any excuse to hold you back. When you wait on the perfect conditions to take action or show up, you’ll never have success on time. At some point you have to bust through the barriers and go after what you really want. Once you’ve come that far, you’ve increased your chances of winning big by 80 percent.

Show up for your business – generate income
Show up to the gym — exercise and get fit
Show up to the grocery store with a healthy shopping list — buy healthy foods and live a healthy lifestyle and extend your life.
Show up
to your relationships — schedule time for your family and spouse
Show up to your spiritual practice — meditate, read, attend services, etc.
Show up to success – make decisions, set goals, commit
Show up to give — volunteer, share, help others, etc.
Show up to opportunities — write a book, start a business, create a web site, etc.
Show up to growth — invest in good training to uplevel your thinking. Then invest in books, training materials, memberships that broaden your perspective and expand your thinking so you CAN grow and succeed.

If you allow your business success, your dreams and goals only to be abstract concepts you won’t move forward and progress in these areas. Eventually you need to grab a hold of your dreams and make it real enough for you to turn them into physical actions. Your abstract thoughts and dreams must eventually become a process of showing up.

Of course we know that merely showing up doesn’t guarantee success but it’s certainly a prerequisite. Once you have positioned yourself by showing up, you’re more likely to finish what you’ve started.

It’s the business owners and want-to-be business owners who only contemplate on taking action but never do. Who live in discontent and never get the results they deeply desire.

6 Quick Steps to Discovering Your Money-Making Product.

You have money-making opportunities all around you that are hidden, even though they’re in plain sight. Only reason you haven’t noticed them yet is because of your mindset. Open yourself up to the possibility of creating products and services that make money for you!

With the right information on how to develop profit-producing ideas and turn them into multiple streams of income…ANYONE can start making MORE MONEY right now. There are so many ways that you can make profits and many have been done before. The key to YOUR earning potential is how can you specifically provide an answer that others are willing to pay for?

1. List your assets: you already possess great money-making skills, you just have to tap into what’s there and cultivate it into something bigger.  Get a journal and write on the first page: “How can I cash in on my passion?”. And list your every skill, talent and expertise that you can think of.

2. Brainstorm your money making ideas often. The more you write, the more ideas will come to you. For the next 7 days, record every thought and idea that comes to mind. Allow yourself to flow freely and creatively. Writing helps your ideas take on a more realistic form, you’re one step closer to creating a product when you have crystallized your ideas on paper.

3. Play with product possibilities. Consider all the ways you can create a product out of your gifts and talents. Write down types and kinds of products you want to produce. Keep in mind your target audience’s needs and what they would want. Oftentimes your audience will request from you what they want. If your clients are often asking you for silk scarves when you finish their hair…consider selling them in your shop. If you are a baker, you can host cupcake baking and decorating classes…or if you are a makeup artist, you could sell makeup kits to your clients. Or maybe you’re an expert in child development and can offer packaged deals to potential clients.

4. Test your product in the marketplace. Create an offer, introduce it to your target audience and see what happens. This will give you a chance to see if there’s an interest in what you are selling. If your idea will help your own life in someway and you’d be willing to pay for it, chances are other people will buy it too. So, put it out there and see what happens!  If you get an overwhelming response…people actually buy the pre-sale, then get to work making your product!

5. Add value to your product. People will gladly pay for products and services that really fulfill their needs, eradicate the pain and give them the answers they have been seeking. In order to add this kind of value, you have to share your unique success perspective. Give a step-by-step system and infuse your authentic self all throughout it! Design what your products around your authentic self. Being authentic is the only way to attract your ideal clients. They’ll be attracted to you, because they’ll be able to see themselves in who you really are!

6. Fast track your product idea to new products by using a proven product producing system. Most people have great product ideas and never act on them because they are unsure how to get started. While you’re reading this, my husband is whisking me off for a special birthday weekend excursion. As we’re traveling I’m writing to give you the latest details from my incredible MMC meeting last weekend. We had two power-packed days of sharing, brainstorming and enlightenment…the energy was high and kept growing stronger as each member presented their latest projects and achievements.

 

I was so excited to see and hear from them…My Executive MMC members shared amazing success stories of growth and prosperity! So many AMAZING things have happened with them in the last 5 months and now…since our retreat…everyone is moving at full force to finish strong!

You’ll see first hand what I mean during the MMC Showcase event, where many of the MMC Executive team will be showcasing at the Women’s Success Conference in Orlando, FL July 7-9th.
