Have you started planning for 2012 to be a better, more productive and profitable year?

Now is the time to start.

I’m sure you have been thinking about how you want to make things different in the New Year, but without a concrete plan…it’s all just a theory.  You can’t get motivated or produce measurable results in your business on theory alone.  So, take a moment and use this simple planning strategy to jump-start your Strategic Business Plan for 2012.

Planning is a necessary part of running a business. It keeps you focused on your intended goal and helps you when getting your team on board…or if you’re a one-woman show…it’ll keep you focused and motivated on your overall big picture.  You can clearly establish operational challenges and obstacles as well as create ways to overcome when you are planning.

Your plan doesn’t have to be perfect…don’t allow the perfect Patty syndrome to stop you from completing your planning project. Remember, action breeds clarity. Once you get started, you may hit a few bumps but things will become clearer to you along the way.

Here’s your planning assignment for the week:

  1. Get an empty journal and designate it for your 2012 business planning.
  2. Take inventory of your 2011 results in your business.
    1. Define what worked.
    2. Also list what you need to add and what you need to subtract to make your productivity stronger.
  3. Now think about how you can plan to push yourself into going bigger in 2012.
    1. Just when you thought you might have perfected an area…push yourself to go one step further in 2012. (This is how big achievers reach peak performances)

With these three simple steps you can jump start your planning process for making 2012 an incredible year for you and your business. I want to encourage you to FINISH the plan. There’s no better time like the present. So once you start the planning process…don’t stop until you’ve completed it.  Remember, there’s plenty of time to perfect it. Just by having the plan you’ll experience a sense of accomplishment and a little anticipation for what’s to come.

Ensuring the success of your business has many components that must be in place…one of them is connecting with someone—a business mentor that can help you navigate your business goals, assess your business model to make sure you’re on track and keep you accountable and provide support so you can actually reach your goals.

At ‘My Big Year 2012’ live event in January, I’ll give you a complete plan to making 2012 your best year yet. If you are in need of gaining more clarity, harnessing your creativity, funneling your focus to produce more…Then..You don’t want to miss this event.
