Success doesn’t happen overnight; and more often than not, it’s not the big huge wins that lead to a lifetime of abundance and happiness. (Though big wins are always awesome and cause for celebration.) However, if truth be told, it’s your little wins, daily practices and personal habits that keep you on track to succeed for the long haul. So today I wanted to step away just a pinch from my normal blog topics and give you even more of a peek into what my daily routines really look like. Here are the ten rituals I practice daily that can cause you to have success in life and business.
Books on Nook, podcasts, hard covers, soft covers… every day I flood myself with new, good information. Preparing for opportunities that don’t exist yet has become a way of life for me. I’m a living witness that information can consistently change the seasons of your life. So I stay ready to walk through new doors by practicing personal improvement daily.
I truly believe that words are a creative force. So everyday I put my words to work by saying positive affirmations concerning my life and business. I have 4-5 of them posted on my bathroom mirror which I say morning and night. When you speak words of faith and positivity, you draw a flood of goodness towards you. So twice daily, I say my affirmations out loud, in a positive tone. This is one of my top secrets to consistently manifesting great things in my life and business. I so believe in the power of affirmations that during my Success Conference this year, I created a Manifestation Mantra, had them framed and gave as gifts to all of our attendees.
The Great Escape
With all that’s on my plate it would be very easy to get swept up into a whirlwind of to-do’s, client care, tending to my family and travel. Though I love every minute of it, everyday I a make a great escape to get away and enjoy a bit of “me” time to regroup and refresh. My alone time usually consists of me hiding away in the far side of my bedroom suite surrounded by a stylish spread of my favorite fashion glossies and business magazines; hunting and gathering for pictures to put on the vision page of my journal. Other times, I will just retreat to my private sitting area, far away from the hustle and bustle of the house to indulge in solitude while enjoying a cup of ginger peach tea. You don’t have to go far to get away. Simply find a space make it your own, then make “me” time a priority. You are worth it!
Daily Hot Water and Lemon
In the evenings as I begin to wind down for bed, I can be found cozily chatting with my family or huddled up with my haul from the bookstore sipping on a cup of hot water and lemon. It’s a great daily habit to keep my digestive track happy, my body and skin hydrated, adds a boost to my immune system and aids in cleansing my system. Its also a great alternative to coffee first thing in the morning. All those benefits in one pretty little cup. Yes please!
Keep the Clutter at Bay
Clutter ruins your ability to think, problem solve, create and increase. So I’ve made it my daily mission to keep the clutter at bay. Every day in less than 10 minutes, I empty my trash, take dirty clothes to the laundry room and vacuum my floors. This happens once in the morning and once and night to keep by bedroom decluttered and free from mental distractions. A secret you may not know: my staff is convinced that my vacuum is one of my most valued success tools LOL! I won’t deny it! I’m obsessed with freshly vacuumed floors!
Spa Day Everyday
For decades I’ve been an advocate for the power of pampering and practicing self care. So every day becomes a “spa day” in some form, in the oasis of my home. Though my schedule can be dizzying; but no matter what, I carve out time for the care and keep of me. I add luxuries like lavish organic soaps, lotions and fragrance to my shower and prep time. I’ve really grown to love and understand the benefits of using essential oils each day for health and beauty purposes. At night I may dab on a bit of lavender oil, so the lovely fragrance and calming properties can help to improve my sleep. I use Frankincense and Myrrh nightly to help clear, and rejuvenate my skin. I use a mixture of pumpkin oil and tea tree oil to keep my scalp healthy and nourished. One of my favorite things to do, is to use my diffuser and fill in with an essential oil that compliments the activities happening in my home at the time. If we are trying to focus, work, study or be productive, I may use peppermint, cedarwood or cinnamon. To promote joy and happy feelings, I may use lemon or ginger. As women, we set the tone for our homes; so why not use natural God-given solutions to create the environment you desire in your household? Smell produces thought. That’s why it’s good to live around great fragrances. This one of the many reasons I love using essential oils.
Daily Listening Parties
I made my Google Home my maestro morning and night. In the morning, while showering, I voice command Google to play a composition of inspiring audios, and insightful information to boost my brain and kick-start my day. In the evening I say, “Hey Google…” and enjoy winding down to a collection of smooth jazz or maybe classical music when I’m reading. What’s playing in the background of your life makes a big difference in your success.
Every morning I take 15 minutes to look over my vision page in my journal as well as my vision board. I close my eyes and imagine myself getting the results I desire. I get a clear picture in my mind, and then allow myself to feel the joyful emotions of achieving this goal just as if it had already happened. This ritual helps to start my day on a positive note with an air of expectancy.
Create a Master Plan
I take time to plan in my productivity and profit planner. Using the strategy pages and prompts, I write down the three major things that I want to get done in my business for the next day no matter what. Next I plan out my social media and marketing efforts for the day. I may flush out blog topics or jot down things to cover in my Success Mastery coaching program or whatever is priority at the time. Keeping daily notes and having a vision for what I want to do next. Makes it much easier to consistently build my brand.
Script My Success
Without fail, I journalize daily. I’ve made it a habit to script my way to success. Here’s my process: At the beginning of the day I write a freestyle morning script of what I want to manifest in my life. I allow my pen to flow because often times I end up writing answers to questions that I wrote in my journal the night before. I always write in present or past tense to stay in a place where what I want is really happening for me. This is a technique to train your brain to do what you want. If you’re writing in the future, then you’ll stay in a state of wanting something to happen vs. writing in the present where it’s currently happening, or in the past where it has already happened for you. Scripting is an important daily task that I do often. Depending on what I’m focusing on or trying to manifest, I sometimes script day and night.
Add fresh flowers! I love adding beautiful floral arrangements throughout my home and workspace. Every few days I take a trip to Trader Joe’s to grab fresh new bunches of beautiful flowers, so my desk and other key spots in my home are adorned with them daily. These are the success habits that have gotten me where I am today. Committing to these practices and enjoying small daily wins have helped me create a life of perpetual success.
I won’t kid you, it’s not the easiest thing to be consistent day in and day out, but the reward of a life well lived is more than worth the effort. This is so close to my heart and important to me that I want to help you pinpoint and practice your own daily routine for success. I’ve enclosed a downloadable worksheet to assist you in writing out your daily routine. Once you’ve filled it out completely, post it somewhere you’ll see it often to remind you to MAKE time for the rituals that will move you forward in life.
