The New Year is fast approaching and it’s important to use this time to start the year strong if you want it to be your best year ever.
The New Year is an opportunity to reinvent yourself and go after your truest desires, dreams and goals. Traditionally, we write a list of resolutions filled with things to do or not to do. However, many of the resolutions are left unmet. Mainly because you start with a list of things to accomplish, but no real plan to make it happen.
Many times people think, “If I just work harder…If I have determination and perseverance…All I need is one big break…” to make my dreams come true…I just want you to know, your personal vision, attitude and expectation of a great life is what will keep you motivated and determined enough to persevere and reach your goals. Much of success is “inside work”. Long before it becomes a reality it is born in your heart and mind and needs to be cultivated.
As we embark on our 2017 clean slate, I want to encourage you to not just create a list of goals but resolve to focus more on the inner work that it takes to bring about real change. To get you started in the right direction, I’m sharing my top 4 success secrets to making it your best year ever. If you’re tired of looking back and feeling disappointed about not achieving your dreams and goals, you may want to try applying the following tips to your business and life.
1. Journal your way through the entire year.
Put pen to paper to write your way to a successful year. I cannot stress the importance of scripting out your life. What’s written is real. Journaling enables you to align your mind and emotions and focus on your truest desires. Not only is it a great cleansing exercise, but it will empower you by building momentum, faith and determination to reach your goals.
Write down desires, dreams and positive thoughts all the time in order to have a great year.
Make journaling a part of your daily routine—it’s a continuous process. Write your 101 goals now, then look at them often. Every month I transfer my goals to a new Success Journal so that I can intentionally focus on what I want to accomplish and mark off what I already have accomplished.
Set aside at least five minutes of writing time daily. You can try morning pages where you freestyle write about whatever comes to mind. Or Brain Dump at the end of the day to clear your mind and sort your thoughts. You should also write a vision for your week, what positive results do you expect to happen. Once you really get into writing your future success, you will start to see more manifestation at a faster rate.
2. Create a mantra to live by and write it down.
Start your year with a word that represents your theme for the year. Imagine yourself at the end of the year and looking back over the most amazing year of your life…If you could reach every goal, make all the money you want, achieve the highest sense of fulfillment and well-being…if everything you touched turned to gold…what word would best describe your winning year in a nutshell?
Write down every word that comes to you. Take a day or two to meditate on your winning year and the words on that list. Circle the word that resonates with you the most and write it down in your Success Journal or on an index card. This word will be your watchword for the year. It is the essence of your success. Allow this word to center your focus and guide you throughout the year.
Next create an affirmation around that word that you will speak over your life daily. In your affirmation, write about your great expectations for the year. Be sure to write it in present or past tense to invoke feelings of already having it. Commit to saying your affirmation every day. When you speak positive expectations you tend to get positive outcomes.
3. Get a vision of your best year ever.
When you have a business goal you are trying to reach, you must first see it in your mind’s eye. Your mind will rise no higher than the pictures you focus on. Your life always moves in the direction of your most dominant thoughts. Activate the great power of your imagination to bring about what you truly desire. You have to see it and believe it before you manifest it.
Spend time in the morning meditating on how you want the outcome to be. Dream big, ponder questions and write down the answers that come during your meditation time. Another way to aid your meditation time is to use focus props: create a vision board or Goal Card and keep it near your bed, so it’s the first thing you see before going to sleep and when waking up in the morning.
You can even paste a photo on the ceiling that you meditate on at night before you go to sleep. These success props will keep you focused on very specific goals. I created my Success Attraction Goal Cards to aid you in this meditation process! Practice creative forethought by seeing your outcome right now. Focus on the possibilities. Visualize your desired end and then work backward to create it. Make it real: See it, feel it, and emulate it in your thoughts. This simply means that you can experience your ultimate success RIGHT NOW just by closing your eyes and visualizing it. It’s time you harness that power and put it to work for you!
4. Take “Enjoy Life” Breaks.
Over the years, I have become adamant about finding fulfillment in every day moments and adventure. Ever since I was a child I’ve set out to enjoy my day, whether it was a weekly trip to the bookstore and shopping, or a quiet time in my room working on my dream book. Taking time to do what you love fuels your creativity like nothing else.
Plus it gives your life meaning.
Joy is the catalyst to success, fulfillment and earning more money. After working with hundreds of clients, I discovered that when you are not emotionally experiencing joy in your life, you’ll find it difficult to manifest your goals. When you feel good you’re apt to do good. When my clients started adding joy breaks into their daily routines their income increased and relationships improved as they cultivated a life of happiness.
Schedule in breaks of enjoyment. Create a list of what you love to do. Then use that list to pencil in time to do what you love. The list can have small and big activities. It can be anything from reading magazines, to a spa day, spending time at the beach, shopping, etc. Whatever you love to do, make sure that you set aside time to do it. Do the small things weekly, plan for major things quarterly or at the least twice a year. THIS IS SO IMPORTANT because people often complain about how life gets the best of them and they feel deprived of all the things that they love. You can do whatever you want, when you plan for it! Make your own life enjoyable by intentionally taking action.
I have a feeling that next year will be everything that you want it to be and more than you expect (If you intentionally take action). I’ve shared with you my top success secrets to making it your best year ever and my number one success tool (The Success Journal) to manifest your dreams. Now the rest is up to you. LET’S GO!
