Want this year to be your most profitable and productive year yet? Sometimes you need a little more structure and accountability to make things happen. Even as the boss who’s holding others accountable, you also need the right systems, and mindset to take things to a higher level in your business.
Over the years, I’ve created some of my best practices to help me be more profitable and productive. My underlying strategy has always been to take action daily. It’s truly the only way you’ll ever get things done. So, whether you’re working on your accounting books or developing a new product, daily action is required for big success.
Treat your business like a baby, you know you have to nurture, feed and clothe your baby daily in order for it to grow and thrive. Your business needs daily attention as well. Even if you’re working your business as a side hustle, treat it with lots of love and give it as much attention as possible so that one day it can become your main thing!
When you want something more for your life and business you’ll eventually have to change. Out with the old way of doing things and in with a proven system that guarantees results. As long as you consistently work the system, the system will work for you and you’ll see big results at an amazing rate.
I have consistently used the following principles in my life year after year and they continue to make a big difference—catapulting me from level to level.
So here’s my best practices for creating a profitable and productive year…
Focus on your strengths.
You must invest most of your time every week doing what you do best, and let others do what they do best. Sometimes we as business owners get used to wearing a lot of hats. However, at some point, you have to get help. Free yourself from mundane, frustrating tasks that steal your energy. Hire help. Get a virtual assistant or an intern that is proficient and flexible enough to help you get more done. This will allow you to focus on what you do best. Which, can ultimately lead to you making more money and growing your business. When you focus most of your time and energy doing what you are truly great at, you eventually reap great rewards.
Clear the Clutter from your life.
To ensure a productive time, I commit to clearing clutter constantly. Whether it’s organizing my workspace or vacuuming the floor it all has to be brought to a place of order. Order precedes increase. Clutter is a distraction, so before you sit down to work, clean up and clear out the things that may be bogging you down. Sometimes this also means turning off the TV and eliminating distracting conversations so that you can think clearly and creatively.
Take vision inspired action daily
Every action step, every goal, everything you do should in some way lead you closer to your vision. When you keep your vision in mind you can set your intention to achieve your desired results. One way to stay focused on your vision is to create a vision board of your ultimate goal. Every year, I create a vision board that encompasses my main objective for the year. Your vision board adds clarity to your desires and emotion to your vision, which in turns stirs your creativity and ingenuity to reach your goals. Start your day with morning meditation.
Insight comes early; if you sit quietly in the morning and meditate and then listen within, you will discover brilliant ideas are ready to burst out of you. Find your very own sweet spot where you can get quiet, relax and think big thoughts. Allow your mind to expand and see yourself productive, profitable and progressing toward your goals. To zero in and align your thoughts with your most pressing activities, ask yourself the following questions:
- What are my desires, goals and dreams?
- What do I want to focus on accomplishing right now?
After meditating for about 15 minutes, quiet your mind and just sit quietly. In my time of meditation I usually ask a question then sit and wait for the answer. Sometimes it’s just one word that comes to mind. I then write that word down and take action right away.
Infuse your life with positive affirmations.
Surround yourself with positive people, have positive conversations and take a break from negative news. To protect your positive mind and atmosphere, refuse to say, hear or agree with any negative words, especially about your life, day or personal economy. Instead, flip the switch and replace all negative expressions with positive ones. Say statements that create positive energy and perpetuates a positive outlook and builds expectation. You need expectation and hope to reach your goals. Speaking positive affirmations daily will keep you charged with excitement and remind you to keep pushing for your intended desires.
List your daily priorities.
The best way to clearly evaluate your priorities is by creating lists. Write what you want to get done for the day and use it to determine how to prioritize your business or professional life and your personal life. Create lists daily so that you can track your progress, and make adjustments when necessary. Lists allow you to get all of the pending obligations out of your head and on to paper so that you can organize, prioritize and delegate tasks to be done.
Start your week with a money goal.
In my business I have Money Manifestation Monday, where I first set a weekly money goal, then plan how to reach it. I use my Productivity and Profit Planner to plan out my marketing strategy, products to sell and everything else it will take to reach the goal this week. This plan sets the course for having a profitable outcome. It’s so much easier to implement a plan than allowing the day to take you in every direction. The more time you plan your profits, the more creative and successful you’ll become at it.
Commit to journaling daily.
Put pen to paper to write your way to a successful year. I cannot stress the importance of scripting out your life. What’s written is real. Journaling enables you to align your mind and emotions and focus on your truest desires. Not only is it a great cleansing exercise, but it will empower you by building momentum, faith and determination to reach your goals.
Set aside at least five minutes of writing time daily. You can try morning pages where you freestyle write about whatever comes to mind. Or brain dump at the end of the day to clear your mind and sort your thoughts. You should also write a vision for your week, what positive results do you expect to happen. Once you really get into writing your future success, you will start to see more manifestation at a faster rate.
