Your thoughts create and are so important to the success of your business. To be a successful entrepreneur for the long haul it’s important to keep your thinking on a positive and progressive note. Your thoughts are either working for you or against you. With multiple roles to play, tasks to complete and the challenges you must face as a business owner, it’s easy to let your guard down and allow negativity to get into your think space…but watch your thoughts.
Whatever is going on in your mind is going on in your marketing…and your marketing efforts are the lifeline of your business. Practice on-purpose thinking each day so you can stay positive, productive and profitable. To keep your thoughts in a happy place and your business on the grow, here are a few things you must remember:
Don’t worry about what others are doing. Simply concentrate on your own progress. Comparing yourself to others and where they are in life and business is unproductive. You’ll achieve much more staying in your lane and remaining focused on all the wonderful things YOU can accomplish and what your life has to offer.
Narrow your focus. Avoid bright shiny object syndrome. It’s easy to stand in your own way of success by constantly jumping on rabbit trails, and pursuing bright, shiny objects instead of focusing on what matters most. However, doing this leads to a lot of confusion and being constantly overwhelmed. Once you get flustered from the inevitable lack of progress that accompanies a lack of focus, you tend to start speaking negatively about your business and your life, which begins the downward spiral of attracting more of what you don’t want. Stay focused on your most important business goals and finish strong.
Don’t down play your efforts. Don’t think you’re too small or too new in business to be effective. Someone needs what you have to offer. As you grow and learn, find your voice and master your craft so that you continue to be effective. For now, don’t be so hard on yourself. Yes it’s true that we must strive and push ourselves to unleash our greatest potential. However, do not allow self-criticism to paralyze you. Do your best and keep it moving.
Don’t allow negative thinking to become your business partner. Of course things happen in life that are out of your control; but whatever the day brings, force yourself to stay positive. Train your mouth to say the right things no matter what the situation. When you allow frustration, negativity or feelings of inadequacy to sway your thinking you’ll begin to impair your marketing efforts. It’s true that there is a place for being authentic and vulnerable; but you want to keep positivity at the forefront of all you do in your business. When you fill your world with negative talk or constantly focus on “the struggle”, you’ll continue to create more of it. Though we like to “keep it real” sometimes when faced with challenges, the better solution is to pump positivity into the atmosphere with your words, attitude and imagination. This positive flow will trickle down through your marketing, social media posts, and all of your business efforts to attract greater opportunities and more income.
Decide to keep a positive flow to everything you do. It’s no secret that there is a lot of negativity in the world today but you don’t have to participate– and yes I know it’s easier said than done. But guarding your thoughts is the most important thing you can do to remain on the path to success. Over the years I’ve learned how to set up negativity blockers in my life to keep the good things flowing in and bad things at bay. Here is my morning mindset routine to manifest great things in my life and business.
1. Wake up and intentionally think great thoughts about your day. Every morning I wake up and before I let my feet hit the floor, I express gratitude and PURPOSELY flood my mind with positive thoughts about my family, my life and business. I imagine my ideal day then smile and say, “Today is going to be a great day.” Remember, this won’t happen automatically. You have to INTENTIONALLY set the course of your day with your thoughts.
2. Write your daily success script. Next, I grab my Success Journal and write down the outcome I desire for my day. I review my “I AM” statement and say it out loud. Or I’ll write a new one based on what I want to accomplish that day. Scripting your day is key in attracting what you want.
3. Create an affirming statement of what you want your outcome to be and say it throughout the day. Speak positive words concerning your projects and business affairs. Are you working on a launch? Do you have an important meeting or need to meet a sales goal? Create a statement that affirms what you want to happen and say it throughout the day. Say it out loud with expectancy. Say things like,
“The meeting today is going to be awesome!” “The buyers love me and want to order my products!”
If you happen to be facing a challenge, don’t ask a negative question like; “How in the world will I ever get the money for this project?” Instead ask with positive expectation, “Wow! What if I did $5000 in sales today? That would be awesome! I’m looking forward to more clients and more sales today!”
These practices have helped me build the life and business I have today. So stay encouraged and take control of your thoughts. Exude positivity in every aspect of your business. Wherever people connect with you – your Instagram, Facebook, blog posts, tweets, emails, etc., let them feel your gratitude and love for what you do. Making this effort will pay you back in waves of abundance as you begin to manifest your good thoughts and intentions.
